Good riddance

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

A cool girl I know and the sexually ambiguous douchebag she inexplicably hangs out with are moving to Hong Kong. So I drew them a going-away pic. SO LONG, SUCKAS.

Skin job

Testing out some skin ideas.  The trick to good skin seems to be in getting the complexity/subtlety balance right.

Heavy Sam Mckenzie influences showing here.

Lusi again

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Another Lusi Sulfura pinup. Trying out something totally different.

Lusi Portrait

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Still playing around with my new Wacom tablet… also trying something a bit less cartoony as a wee change.

Couple of process pics as well for the original inked pic (note the weird position of her left eye that I had to fix) and the coloured outlines I cut out before starting on the colour fills.

Check out Lusi’s website here.  Obviously.

Hey baby

Friday, January 29th, 2010

A couple of my friends had a baby last year, and I did this family portrait as a wee present.

Awww?  Awwwwwwww.

LooooOOOOOooo… si

A new Lusi Sulfura pinup I did over the weekend.  This started as a doodle and but I decided to finish it off, mainly to try out my sexy new Wacom tablet, which is the best thing since… well… um… look, it’s just pretty sweet.

Lusi’s tshirt here is Kevin Dart’s fictional 60’s cinema superspy Yuki 7.  Check out his brilliant fake swingin’-60’s-spy posters; click here for a personal favourite…

Old illustration looking for a good home. And braaaainnsss.

Suuuuuper busy on all kinds of nonsense just now, so I havn’t been drawing much new stuff.

Instead, here’s an old illo from a couple of years ago, for commission that fell through before I got paid.  Anyone want it?

Back!

Here’s a new Lusi pinup to celebrate.

More brush pen action

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Did this yesterday as another experiment with the new brush pen.

The whole idea of this was to draw, ink and colour it as quickly as possible to try and loosen up my art style a little.  I’m not sure it really worked - it’s still nowhere near as sketchy as I wanted it to be - but I’m still pretty happy with the final pic anyway.

The inspiration for this was pretty much halfway between Jim Mahfood’s sketchy graf girls and Guy Burwell’s disgustingly awesome band action-shots.

Here’s the original inked drawing and a couple of Photoshop process pics.
