Sketchmageddon

Monday, December 21st, 2009

For various reasons I took nearly a month off of drawing anything recently, and getting used to the pencil again has been weirdly awkward.

No new finished stuff to show you, but here’s some of my practice sketches, trying to get back into the swing of things.  The first page was particularly horrible to draw.  Which is why some of it is shite.

Powwkipsie

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Powwkipsie is a sporadic webcomic by the thing known only as Iain Laurie.  It’s  a heavily disturbing body-horror acid trip of a comic and feels a little like a catastrophic psychotic meltdown.

I think the latest episode is Iain’s masterpiece to date.  Check it out and despair. Just don’t expect to feel good about yourself afterwards.

Old illustration looking for a good home. And braaaainnsss.

Suuuuuper busy on all kinds of nonsense just now, so I havn’t been drawing much new stuff.

Instead, here’s an old illo from a couple of years ago, for commission that fell through before I got paid.  Anyone want it?

Damn thee, Motionographer

Friday, December 11th, 2009

So I discovered motionographer this week, an animation blog/showcase which is simultaneously incredibly inspiring and unbelievably humbling in a depressing, why-even-f*cking-bother kind of way.

Working my way through their archives now.  Here’s a couple of my faves… so far.

FLAIRS - TRUCKERS DELIGHT from 3rd Side Records on Vimeo.

Un tour de Manège from Les Manèges on Vimeo.

The Cat Piano from PRA on Vimeo.
