Comics Journal review
Gavin Lees at the Comics Journal website has recently posted a great review of the Scottish underground comics scene, including the Wasted anthology where my Lusi Sulfura character appears. I would say it’s great, of course, because he says:
Alan Kerr’s “Lusi Sulfura” and Curt Sibling’s “Total Fear” are also stand-out works, mainly due to the sheer slickness of their art. Kerr’s titular demon is his sounding-board for railing against the watering down of alternative culture — from the limpness of emo to designer rock fashion — all rendered in a gorgeous pop art style with thick, inky lines and vector pattern shading. His cover to Wasted’s second issue even manages to rival Frank Quitely’s for sheer energy.
Cheers Gavin!

Nice work. Good to see you’re being put on par with Frank Quitely. And you’ve probably heard it already but behold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SxlD74hvRk
Plastic Beach… what a name.

Cool, thanks. I knew Plastic Beach was coming out soon but didn’t know the single was out already.
Looking forward to a whole new round of Hewlett art and videos…

Despite causing controversy in certain
corners, it was a pretty good review in all…!
Where am I?
This is a blog for the artwork of Alan Kerr. Alan runs alankerronline.com (previously called deadboydesigns) but rarely updates it. Instead, this blog will be updated frequently with new projects, sketches, finished pics and pretty much anything else lying around.
Alan will draw for money.
